Fleury

Elaborate engraved bedding plan, from Leonard Meager (c. 1624 – c. 1704): “The English Gardner.” London: 1688.

Pack contains 2 Decoupage papers 18.9″ wide x 26.7″ high

Annie Sloan and The Royal Horticultural Society have teamed up to bring you the most beautiful decoupage papers, using historical designs from the RHS’s vast archive of botanical drawings from their world famous Lindley Collections.  These decoupage papers can be used alongside Chalk Paint or on furniture alone to transform pieces into works of art.

The collection has been hand-selected by Annie from a treasure trove of botanical imagery.  Choose from historic geometric plans to hand-coloured engravings of flora and fauna.

For more than two centuries the RHS has been the passionate force at the heart of horticulture, and today they inspire millions of people to get involved in gardening.  Annie’s ambition, meanwhile, is to inspire individuals with the confidence to bring colour, character and design into their homes using her fool-proof range of decorative products.  We hope you’ll agree this collection allows you to do just that.

Recommended tools:

  • Decoupage Papers
  • Scissors
  • Image Medium
  • Small Flat Brush
  • Clear Chalk Paint Wax or Lacquer
  • Small Chalk Paint Wax Brush

Get Started

  • Consider the background colour of the decoupage paper before you apply and use Chalk Paint to match and blend with the design
  • Papers can be used as whole sheets, or elements cut out and places as desired.
  • Whether painted or unpainted, ensure your surface is clean and dry.
  • Apply and even coat of Image Medium to the back of the decoupage paper and the surface, using a Small Flat Brush.  This acts as an adhesive to stick the decoupage paper to any surface.
  • Lay the decoupage paper on the surface.  Press firmly and smooth from the centre outwards to the edges, carefully flattening out all creases and fold lines.
  • After allowing at least 30 minutes for the Image Medium to dry, apply an even coat of Image Medium over the top of the decoupage paper to seal.
  • Once dry apply either a coat of Clear Chalk Paint Wax or Lacquer to finish.  On high traffic areas, use two coats of Lacquer for maximum protection.  If waxing, remove excess wax with a lint-free cloth.
